ASFCME 3299: MARCH FOR OUR FAMILIES

Hello Everyone,

We have a MAT Meeting this Saturday, Dec. 5th at 10:00 am at the union office. We will be discussing next steps to win our jobs back.

Please join UC Berkeley custodians, food service, maintenance workers and students in a March for Our Families on December 9th at 5:30pm!

UC Berkeley has:
-Recently laid-off over 40 custodians and building maintenance workers,
-Implemented 4-6% pay-cuts on the lowest paid workers on campus, resulting in less than $1 million in savings for the UC.
-Sought to privatize bus services at the Berkeley Lab and on Campus
-Planned a war on workers' pension in March 2010.

Due to 32% fee hike, many workers' families will take a double hit. Many laid-off workers have kids in the UC system and may not be able to afford to keep sending them.

Students recently struck the UC Berkeley campus, including occupying Wheeler Hall with the demand to return 38 custodians to work.

Low-wage union workers and students are united to defend their union, their education and their families, and they need your help!

Please RSVP to 510 486-0100 or afscme.local3299@gmail.com
