US Bombs Venezuela. Source USA Today

As the global crisis intensifies - because that is what Trump's piratical attack on Venezuela means - bear in mind the other targets his gang have identified.
The obsession with South Africa might seem unhinged. Until you consider that white supremacist rule was overthrown there and that despite all manner of failings it was the South African government two years ago that raised the genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice. It is also a part of BRICS, of course.
Or Somalia - a venomously racist and eliminationist assault by Trump on Somalis and on the country. There is the tag team operation with Israel to try to carve out a part of Somalia to act as some kind of dumping ground for expelled Palestinians. A perverted homage to the Nazis' Madagascar plan.
There is also the fact that Somalia has been the site of several US humiliations. Some will remember the film Black Hawk Down, which tried to gloss the humiliation with a gilding of Hollywood schmaltz.
So I suspect that there is a lot of resentment and collective psychological turmoil on the radical supremacist right going on here of which Trump's fixations are but an expression.
South Africa really stands out. The blacks cannot run their own country - it is necessary for racist white billionaires heading to trillionaires to be reimposed as direct political authority, rather than having to deal with a state entity that is not simply under their thumb.
And what better clarions for US-led (and US-first) counter-revolution could there be than overturning the Venezuelan rupture from Yankee imperialism and, an even bigger prize, in effect reversing the world-historic overthrow of apartheid and the emergence of a South Africa that was free from colonial submission?
For someone as fixated upon his place in the history books, you can see the attraction for Trump.
We recover the Venezuelas and the South Africas; places such as Somalia are "shitholes" and we will just dump the inferior people there.
I should add of course Iran. The dream/delusion of reversing the 1979 revolution, which was one of the greatest blows US imperialism has ever suffered and which brought down the Democrat administration, must agitate Trump's mind.
The idea of being at some grotesque future Pahlavi monument with references to Aryanism and ancient glory including a gigantic image of "Trump - Liberator of Persia" must be appealing.
Gaudy and maniacal you might imagine. But this is Trump we are talking about, and the Pahlavi’s. Have you seen the fruit of their personal tastes?
