During the Contra Affair when the Reagan Administration was spending billions of our tax dollars overthrowing and undermining efforts by Central American countries at controlling their own destiny and economies, Reagan used drug traffickers, linking them to communism, as an excuse to support right-wing neo-fascist opposition. After all, US corporations profits were at stake here.
Reagan said, in 1986, "The link between the governments of such Soviet allies as Cuba and Nicaragua and international drug trafficking and terrorism is becoming increasingly clear. These twin evils-narcotics trafficking and terrorism -represent the most insidious and dangerous threats to the hemisphere today." Sounds familiar doesn't it.
The biggest drug pushers in the world without doubt is the CIA.
