Thousands of Yemeni protesters are demonstrating Sanaa calling on President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down.
The protests in Yemen have been inspired by the success of the Tunisian and now Egyptian masses removing their respective tyrants. Like Mubarak, Yemen's Ali Abdullah is a trusted client of the US government. Protester's chanted "After Mubarak, it's Ali's turn" and "A Yemeni revolution after the Egyptian revolution." reports say
Saleh, has been in power since 1978, and in response to earlier protests said he would step down at the end of his term and not pass the rein over to his son, almost the identical scenario being played out in Egypt earlier. However, as we all know now, Mubarak wasn't able to hold that position and hopefully neither will the other US stooge in Yemen.
As in Egypt, the Yemeni government's security forces have attacked protesters and opposition figures. Many have been arrested in Sanaa and Aden for celebrating the victory in Egypt.
Below is a video from Al Jazeera chronicling, with interviews, five important days in January when it became clear that the Arab people had clearly lost their fear of the regime notorious security forces and state machine.
