Consciousness, Controlling peoples views. Accusations of conspiracy theories.

There are many ways the capitalist class and its agencies conduct the struggle for the consciousness of the working class, to control this consciousness and subordinate it to their will. One way is that they dismiss as conspiracy theories some events which are so explosive that if they were fully believed would threaten their whole system. So people who believe such events are dismissed as conspiracy theorists and nuts.

I recently read a book called The War On Truth by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed. It is worth reading. This explains that there was massive speculation on stocks and shares in the days before 9/11. This speculation was in airlines especially United Airlines who had planes hijacked and the speculation was that the shares of this company would fall. In other words the speculators knew that something bad was going to happen. I was telling my friend about this and he said that this was probably done by people in the governments of countries like Saudi Arabia. The London Independent a major British paper wrote that the company most active in speculating that United Airlines shares would fall was "headed until 1998 by 'Buzzy Krongard who went on to be executive director of the CIA."

9/11 gave the US capitalist class the excuse to go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan. It created the mood in the country. It wanted to go to war in these countries to protect its oil companies, get its hands on the resources of these countries, to drive up into Central Asia, to surround Russia and China. 9/11 allowed them to do this. The majority of people in the US now believe that the US government knew more than it was saying about 9/11. They are right. The US government was at the very least aware that the 9/11 attacks were going to take place and let them go ahead to allow them to manipulate the mood of the country for war. Or they were actually complicit in the attacks themselves. Understanding this reality is to understand how rotten and vicious capitalism is. In its own interests the capitalist class let over 3,000 people die in the raging inferno of 9/11. Understanding this does not make anybody a conspiracy nut. It makes you conscious of the nature of capitalism.

Sean.
