The 31,700 employees of Goldman Sachs, the moneylending firm, are expected to receive an average year-end payout of more than $700,000 each, which would be the highest figure in the firm's 140-year history.  Goldman Sachs raked in profits at a rate of $35m a day.

With the Dow hitting over 10,000 for a minute, this is the coupon clipper's idea of a healthy economy.
