I have argued that I do not think China is capitalist nor is it socialist. My half hearted effort at an explanation as to what it is is that it's neither but "on the road" to capitalism and likely unable to turn back. I do think that there will likely be huge clashes at some point between the Chinese working class and the bureaucracy , and between the private sector and the bureaucracy.
Truth be told though, as the two speakers suggest, we cannot tell exactly how it will end. The discussion does offer valid arguments as to why it's not capitalist.
It's a great short introduction to the subject that workers like myself will find very interesting.
