Palestine: We Were Taught The Land Was Empty

Richard Mellor

Interesting history. That land wasn't empty then. People grew crops and farmed extensively. But I was led to believe Europeans made that happen.; made crops grow in the Desert. The Western European governments, Britain in particular, found a place they could dump their "jewish" problem that they had tried for centuries to eliminate through forced conversions that many Jews resisted, committing suicide before abandoning their faith like those in Jacob's Tower.

The offensive resulted in the mass murder of the European Jewish population in the death camps, an event we know as the Holocaust. So in a sense, Jews too have been the victims of colonial expansion, used as a front line of defense in the occupation of the region after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire after WW1. "Our loyal little Ulster amid a sea of Arabism" as one British colonial official referred to it.

It has been Christian Europe that tried to eradicate the Jewish people yet it is Palestinian Arab Muslims and Christians that are paying the price. It is somewhat bizarre to witness the former architects of mass murder, Germany in particular now defending their former victims as they commit the same sins in Palestine and referring to those of its citizens that protest as terrorists.
