I attended the huge Mamdani Watch party last night at the Ghost Town brewery in West Oakland . Called by East Bay DSA . Maybe 400 in attendance! Ectastic reaction to his speech ! Unfortunately so much that at least a few drew wrong political conclusions . I and others had to remind them that Mamdani won DESPITE the DP not because of that party ! PS. Lots of Trade unionists present . Not only the “usual suspects “ from CNA , OEA , SEIU etc. but various mainly blue collar unions like the teamsters, ILWU , Iironworkers etc

I attended the Mamdani watch party ( called by East Bay DSA ) at the Ghost town brewery in West Oakland last night . Hundreds attended . Maybe 400 . Lots of Trade unionists . Not just the “ usual suspects “ ( ie SEIU and OEA ) both a lot of Blue Collar Union s represented , like Teamsters , Ironworkers , AFSCME 444, ILWU , Carpenters etc . Anywsy ecstatic reaction from thé crowd as Mamdani spoke . Though I had to remind a couple that Mamdani won DESPITE the Democratic Party not Because of it !
