Al-Quds and Al-Qassam Brigades combine battlefield strikes with psychological messages amid Gaza siege.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, released footage on Saturday documenting a guided missile strike on an Israeli army command and control headquarters north of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The attack, part of Operation Flood of Al-Aqsa, was carried out using a 107 guided missile, which the brigades say has proven effective in targeting Israeli vehicles and troop sites with precision.

The video began with surveillance footage showing Israeli soldiers around the targeted structure, suggesting that the strike followed a detailed reconnaissance operation.

One fighter was shown carrying the missile in a bag, maneuvering through rubble-filled alleys before setting up a primitive launch pad inside a destroyed apartment overlooking the Israeli incursion route.

The missile was then launched and struck the building directly, causing a blast and plumes of smoke to rise from the site.

This attack comes amid an intensification of Palestinian resistance operations across the Gaza Strip, particularly in Khan Yunis, where confrontations have been especially fierce. Both the Al-Quds Brigades and the Al-Qassam Brigades—the armed wing of Hamas—have recently increased the broadcast of battlefield footage targeting Israeli armored units, troop concentrations, and field command centers.

Since the start of Israel’s ground invasion on October 27, 2023, resistance groups in Gaza have consistently documented their operations against Israeli occupation forces.

These actions come in the context of Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, and has resulted in what observers have widely described as a campaign of genocide, involving mass killings, starvation, forced displacement, and widespread destruction.

Over 200,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded, the majority women and children, with thousands more missing under the rubble and an escalating famine across the enclave.

‘Digging My Own Grave’

In a related development, the Al-Qassam Brigades released a new video of an Israeli prisoner held in Gaza, identified by Israeli media as Evitar David. Emaciated and visibly weak, the captive delivered a desperate message from inside a narrow tunnel, saying he was slowly starving to death.

“What I’m doing now is digging my own grave,” the prisoner said in a direct message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli public.

The video showed the captive scratching notes onto the wall, recording his daily rations—if any. “I don’t know what I’m going to eat. I haven’t eaten for days,” he said. “There’s no meat, no chicken, no fish… only a few lentils or beans.”

At one point, the prisoner displayed a calendar documenting a near-total absence of food for several days. He revealed that a single can of fruit was all he received for two full days. “I feel completely abandoned,” he said. “I grew up believing the State of Israel takes care of its soldiers. That’s a lie.”

The video ended with a haunting image of the prisoner digging into the dirt floor of the tunnel, saying his body was weakening by the day and time was running out. “Only you can stop this,” he said to the Israeli public, “so I can go back and sleep in my bed with my family at home.”

‘They Eat What We Eat’

The new footage followed an earlier clip aired Friday, in which the same prisoner appeared in silence, visibly starving. That video juxtaposed his condition with scenes of malnourished Palestinian children in Gaza, accompanied by the caption: “They eat what we eat and drink what we drink.”

The Al-Qassam Brigades appeared to be underscoring that prisoners are being kept under the same minimum conditions of survival imposed on the besieged population by Israel’s blockade and bombardment.

The release of these videos has reignited public anger and division within Israel, where families of the captives continue to clash with government officials. Pressure is mounting on Netanyahu’s administration to negotiate a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal. However, the Israeli government has thus far rejected such proposals, opting instead for continued military escalation.

Qassam spokesman Abu Obeida has repeatedly emphasized that Israeli prisoners will not be released except through a negotiated deal—warning that a purely military approach will only lead to their deaths.

As resistance factions step up both their military operations and their psychological warfare, Israel’s political leadership faces increasing domestic and international pressure.

The latest images from Gaza, whether of missile strikes on Israeli command centers or starved prisoners pleading for rescue, underscore the deepening stalemate and humanitarian catastrophe resulting from the war.

The Al-Qassam Brigades closed their latest video with a multilingual message in Arabic, Hebrew, and English:“They will not return except through a deal. Time is running out.”
