Richard Mellor
More
than anything else, I would like to hope my co-workers and workers in
general watch Mearsheimer here. Listen to what he has to say. It's a
breath of fresh air when compared to the garbage mass media and the
equally nauseating words that flow from the political representatives of
capital. I have respected his views and shared them for some time. I
do not agree with the interviewer at the end describing Mearsheimer's
analysis as dark and bleak. I think assessing a situation
in a clear and realistic way looking at the facts on the ground is far
more rewarding and actually sheds light on the matter.
It's unfortunate
the professor appears not to have delved deeply or at all in to Marx,
the history of the working class and socialist, communist revolutionary history. He can talk positively or negatively about this or
that actor on the world stage and the role they may play in the events
in terms of individuals, Trump, Putin, Xi, Biden. Or how states, Russia,
China US might react. However working class of Europe and the world having any role at
all is not part of his world view. Yet this is the force, and the only
force, that can affect any serious and productive change. Consequently,
in his view the world continues down the slippery slope towards the
abyss.
