The Genocide in Gaza is Funded by US Tax Dollars. Don't Shut it Out

US Tax Dollars Work. Making the World Safer (For Profits)

The situation in the Middle East is intensifying as reports I read said, China is sending 6 warships to the area. The Zionists are mercilessly bombing Gaza in what can only be described as a genocide and one that the US, the EU and most western powers are OK with. This is made possible through the support of the US rogue regime and its British sycophants. Without the US, it would cease.

If Hezbollah open another front in the North, there is danger of widespread war.

It is reminiscent of the British slaughter in Kenya against the Mao Mao. The British knew their time was done but they reacted with extreme violence. A world power losing its influence is a dangerous animal. Here in the US the labor leaders are silent, the “Dogs that never bark” I call them, and the mass media disgracefully pushes the Washington line. It’s no wonder CNN, BBC and other western reporters have been screamed at and insulted when approaching Palestinian victims of this horror scene.

We are in a dangerous moment in time. At times, I am sure I am not alone in wondering if there is a solution at all and the alternative is frightening but I am convinced the working class throughout the world will attempt to resolve these crises that are a result of capitalism’s unravelling and its dominant flagbearer striking out with a vengeance.

But whether it’s possible without a massive loss of life, perhaps hundreds of thousands maybe millions, is another question. Can we be dragged back from the abyss the US ruling class is heading toward, consumed with rage, fear, and profit addicted psychosis often given credence through the pulpit. I have not lost hope, but nothing is guaranteed in the age of nuclear fission.

Even if a cease fire were forthcoming, solving the immediate problem in Israel Palestine would necessitate the expulsion of the half a million or so settlers planted there by the Zionists as a buffer against the Palestinian inhabitants’ natural resistance to the theft of their lands and homes. These foreign nationals should be returned to their homelands, and the Palestinians allowed to return to theirs. Many are US citizens as well,

The support the Arab and Muslim rulers show for the Palestinians is fake. They wish they would go away, but the pressure from the working class in the Arab world and other Muslim nations like Pakistan is too great; they have to pretend it matters. The Arab regimes are rotten to the core and need US arms and money to hold back the righteous anger that broke out in to the open in 2011 during the Arab spring. US proxies were removed in its wake. It took Obama a while to support the ousting of Hillary Clinton’s family friend, Hosni Mubarak, but in the end, this slick bourgeois politician had to accept reality. These characters, no matter their religion, color or race, know how important class solidarity is. Mubarak was a far more despotic ruler than Gaddafi, yet Clinton laughed with glee at Gadaffi’s murder. I have to admit, at the time I thought removing him was a positive thing and would lead to a better society for Libyans, but I was wrong.

On both sides, religious fanatics play an important role given the absence of political oppositions. The Zionists preferred the Islamic reactionaries in Hamas to the more political PLO with its left wing and trade union factions. The vacuum is filled. The Mullahs of Iran that we hate so much in the US are a product of US foreign policy having supported the coup that overthrew the secular democratic government of Mossadegh in 1953 and installing the murderous Shah. The Shah murdered and tortured political opposition and the safest bet for those that resisted were the mosques.

In Iraq, the US helped the former CIA agent Saddam Hussein eliminate Iraqi communists and did the same in Iran: “Noting that the Baath Party was hunting down Iraq's communist, the CIA provided the submachine gun-toting Iraqi National Guardsmen with lists of suspected communists who were then jailed, interrogated, and summarily gunned down, according to former U.S. intelligence officials with intimate knowledge of the executions……….. A former senior U.S. State Department official told UPI: "We were frankly glad to be rid of them. You ask that they get a fair trial? You have to get kidding. This was serious business.". and a former senior CIA official said: "It was a bit like the mysterious killings of Iran's communists just after Ayatollah Khomeini came to power in 1979. All 4,000 of his communists suddenly got killed."  Saddam Key in Early CIA Plot, UPI 4-10-2003

If you are reading this and have disdain for the Mullah’s of Iran, or the Sheiks in other Muslim countries, look no further than the US Congress and the Pentagon as their position in their respective societies is a product of conscious US foreign policy. The 20-year war on Iraq is a massive war crime and the criminals don’t wear Keffiyeh’s or Hijāb’s.

Do not be forced in to making Hamas the central focus here. Two Million refugees locked in to the concentration camp we call Gaza are not Hamas members or necessarily Hamas supporters. Many of the so-called militants are most likely young men who were born in Gaza of refugee parents that were displaced by the Zionist project. The Zionists are using this to complete their ultimate goal which is the elimination of Palestinian people and their culture.

In the US, most American’s oppose this brutality and have opposed other US military ventures. They tolerate it because “our” troops aren’t dying in significant numbers. Much of the anger at US society is internalized as we turn on each other, blame each other for the problems we face at home. Homelessness and mental illness is rampant, health care and shelter is out of reach. The anger is directed at immigrants and the poor but we can’t have basic necessities when we support, at least passively, the murderous policies of the US state. The Post War boom is over, there can no longer be “guns and butter” as the slogan suggested.

The US government and its military arm has slaughtered millions of people in the post WW2 era. The US body politic and other sections of the US bourgeois arming the Zionists are monsters. One of its major political parties, the Democrats, is the only political party that has dropped nuclear bombs on urban centers.

I mentioned earlier the trade union leaders simply because they actually do command resources that could change this situation. They have the national structure of organized labor with thousands of union local bodies and wider regional bodies and state federations. These pro-market profit worshiping leaders of the organized labor movement are also guilty of doing nothing when the situation is crying out for a solution. They have spent billions of dollars supporting big business politicians who are supporting the slaughter of other working people abroad.

Do we think what is happening in the Middle East and around the world will not affect us? Will not mean a lower standard of living or outright poverty for our children and the likelihood of no future at all for our grandchildren as if nuclear annihilation won’t get us, environmental catastrophe will.

I recognize that it seems hopeless as there is yet no serious mass movement or political vehicle to which we can turn to and join in order to get our voice heard and ultimately impose our will on society, not just at home but globally in solidarity with workers from all countries.

But doing nothing is not an option. We must not shut the world out and we must challenge our own ruling class that is an obstacle to peace abroad and also a decent life in the United States. We can let others know we oppose what’s happening to the Palestinians, to the poor of central America who flee north to escape poverty and violence only to be demonized when they get here. Our neighbors, our friends, or workmates. The adage that politics should be discussed is wrong, it is a set up. Politics is life, it decides where you live, work or where your kids go to school or if the schools are functioning. It determines whether you can eat.

If you are in a union you can be arguing there for solidarity, workers unity, opposing US policy abroad and at home. Just don’t remain silent. Our best defense is to speak out and to support the victims of US foreign policy. International solidarity organizationally and in action is what will undermine the ability of reactionary religious fanatics of any kind to find an echo among desperate populations trying to find a way out. Zionism, this racist reactionary ideology arose in part because of the European war against the Jewish population culminating in the betrayal of Stalinism and the mass murder of 6 million of them by their own people, fellow Europeans. Reveal US ignorance for what it is when you are told that Jews and Muslims have been fighting for centuries. I have heard Christians of many types say this. Remind them it was Christian Europe that tried to eliminate Jewish culture and murdered millions of Jews, not the Muslim or Arabic world.
