Powerful. Two important things come to mind for me here. It's bad enough for a normal human being when you legitimately kill to defend yourself or your family. Killing for the geo-political gains of one ruling class or another eventually breaks you mentally. This happened to the US troops in Vietnam and contributed to the degeneration of the military as after a while, watching your own comrades die, you question why you are there. The US drone operators expressed similar sentiments in their letter to Obama, their activity was making them sick. Obama of course, did nothing he was the drone king after all.
Then there’s the guys in the helicopter in the video Chelsea Manning released to the world and why both she and Julian Assange and Wikileaks are labelled terrorists. They laugh as they ow down children and civilians from above questioning nothing. They have been dehumanized by the powerful, by the politicians in Washington, the generals in the Pentagon and the CEO’s of the arms industries that produce the weapons.
It shows that killing innocents is mind destroying and workers are the victims on both sides, fighting against each other against our own interests.
