15 undocumented workers killed in truck crash in Texas

The mass capitalist media has been giving its main coverage to the killings in the movie theatre in Aurora Colorado. And they certainly should be covered. See our coverage here on this blog. But must less coverage is being given to the death of 15 undocumented workers in a truck crash in Texas. Far away from home, desperately seeking to get work to survive, probably without a dollar in their pockets, they died in a horrific crash. Two young girls were amongst the dead. They were most likely on their way to Houston. Amongst the dead were young workers from Guatemala and Mexico. Like is a nightmare for the undocumented. Getting into the US means braving the dangers of the notorious coyotes who prey on them braving the heat of the terrible sun, braving the cops on both sides of the border and on occasion braving the vigilante thugs who set themselves up as protecting the US. Then when they get here they have to take the most low paid  jobs. The trade union movement should organize these workers. The trade unions in the US and Mexico and Central America should work together to do this. By not helping these workers the trade union leaders are letting are a disgrace.
