US in economic and political crisis: The US system "isn't working"

New York Times changes its story
It seems occupy NY is spreading and there is an occupy Seattle, Boston, LA and other ones are springing up.  At the LA protest one guy tells the LA Times:
Greece
"The system that's in place clearly isn't working anymore. If this carries on my children aren't going to have the same standard of living as I do, and that's sorry."
Charlie Rose interviewed Gao Xiqing in the latest issue of Business WeekGao is the head of China's  $400 billion sovereign wealth fund and had some interesting comments about the US economy.  "Somehow your system has come to a sort of dead end, at least for now" he told Rose, "You need to rethink about the system". A lot of Americans are waking from decades of being dumbed down and shut out of the system.  It is significant that the Steelworkers and other Unions are openly supporting the Occupy Wall Street movement that is spreading across the US and now Puerto Rico.  It just shows how closely knit the world is as events in one country affect another, a global economy, global crisis and we need a unified global response.  2011 is an interesting year.
