Flier we handed out at the teacher's rally in Sacramento today

A couple of us went up to Sacramento today for the teacher's rally at the state capital.  This is the flier we handed out.  The rally was quite small, around 150 to 200 people.  The California Teachers Association, an affiliate of the NEA has around 300,000 members in the state of California.  I just heard that the Rotunda is being occupied by students and teachers but haven't confirmed it. I was at the press conference that the teacher's Union held and the CTA supports extending governor Brown's tax increases in order to "save" education.   As we explain in the previous article, this is a disastrous position as it will not only not save education it does not help unite all workers that are coming under fire from the capitalist offensive. It does not help build a united movement against the attacks we are facing which is what will stop them; it is a position of retreat.
