Species. Life on Earth.

I see that thousands of the world's top scientists have concluded that the biggest threat to the planet at present is the wiping out of species that is taking place. The right wing ignoramuses such as those in the Christian right push the view that life on earth is dependent on their crude distortion of the selection of the species theory, where they prattle on about life being dependent on wiping out other species. Nothing could be further from the truth. Species depend one upon the other.

I was thinking about this the other day when I was reading about the catastrophes in Japan and in the Gulf of Mexico. The ocean and shores in the gulf are still saturated with oil. Now the ocean off Japan is being flooded with nuclear contaminated water. The earth is being polluted, the air is being polluted and the oceans are being polluted. On the basis of capitalism life on earth as we know it will be destroyed. It will end up being left at best to the cockroaches.

Capitalism has forfeited the right to exist. We need to end it and replace it with a democratic international socialist society.

Sean.
