Gaza truck drivers on indefinite strike
From Al Jazeera:
Truck drivers in the Gaza Strip are on an indefinite strike. They are protesting against Israel's permanent closure of the Karni commercial crossing in the north of the strip.
This leaves the Keram Abu Salem crossing in the south as the only way for limited goods to get in and out of Gaza.
Israel had severely restricted travel to and from the Gaza Strip since Hamas seized power there in June 2007, after winning Palestinian legislative elections in 2006.
The blockade allows only very basic supplies into Gaza. But Israel restricts some other essential supplies, putting residents of Gaza in a dire situation.
