Then I read that it would take $50 billion a year to end starvation in the world and between $20 billion and $60 billion to provide clean water to everybody in the world. So in total at most $110 billion for clean water and enough to eat and this would stop the deaths of the 22,000 children who die every day from poverty related disease. We could take the money from the military budgets. But leave them aside for the moment. What about the richest people in the world? The richest is the Mexican Slim Helu at $74 billion, the next is the American Bill Gates at $56 billion, the next is the American Warren Buffett at $50 billion. So the three richest people in the world have $180 billion between them. This is enough for clean water for all, enough food for all and have at least $70 billion left over for a few luxuries.
We say on this blog that capitalism does not work. We say that it is mad. These statistics alone show that we are right. This system is completely insane. The people like these three obscenely rich individuals and their class are completely insane. Do they think they will be able to go on with this inequality, mass starvation and suffering for ever? On top of that we have the nuclear madness that they have shown by building the nuclear plants around the world. No, capitalism is mad, it is insane. Contact us and help us get this message out and organize to fight to get it accepted.
