Providence New England teachers reportedly receive notice that they will be fired.

We are waiting for more information but from what we know so far all teachers in Providence New England have just received notice that they are to be fired. This is in line with the offensive against working people that is taking place in Wisconsin and across the country. When the movement to defend education was taking place in California last spring. there was an attempt to link this struggle up with the New England teachers then. But unfortunately lack of understanding on behalf of some sections of the Californian movement and lack of resources resulted in this not being done. There is much greater opportunity to link together all movements of the public sector workers and teachers and the working class movement in general at the present time. This is what has to be done.
