Wikileakis. Anonymous Organizes Fightback. Who is, What is Anonymous?

Old timers in the movement used to say that the new movement will always look different than expected to those who helped prepare it. Who could have predicted that the new movement of millions being born at the moment would take place under the banner of defending the relatively new tool, the Internet, and have at its head a man from rural Australia and this defense would be organized by a group called Anonymous, whose "hackivists" call themselves "Anons." For do not be mistaken a new movement is being born. Capitalism will not be able to put this genie back in the bottle again. It will not be able to undo the damage done to it, and especially US capitalism by the exposure of its lies and secrets and dirty deeds to anybody who has a computer.

Sure capitalism is trying to crush wikileaks. But it will not succeed. Look at a few details. There is a software called low orbit ion cannon, (loic) which is necessary to download wikileaks material and store it to make sure that capitalism cannot wipe it out. In the last week the number of these pieces of soft ware being downloaded has gone from 390 to 23,479. It is now being downloaded at the rate of about 1,000 per hour with one third of these going to the US. A new movement is being born. Capitalism cannot put this genie back in the bottle.

And this. Around one million people now have the wikileaks files with capitalism' secrets downloaded on to their hard drives, again for safe keeping. As one ANON activist said this is "the shot heard round the world - this is Lexington." History is also being born again as a living point of reference in peoples lives.

The New York Times has some interesting information on Anonymous. It quotes an Anon: "Anonymous can be found in many locations and formats. Members converse in on-line chat rooms and forums where friendships and alliances often build. You post things, discuss ideas and this leads to putting out a video or a document. There is a chat room which is invite only that pick the targets and time of attack. The campaigns are part of operation Payback. Anonymous represents a stunning new force in the world." A new movement is being born.

US capitalism is enraged and trying viciously to crush this movement. Former US Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee called for the execution, that is murder, of anybody who had participated in leaking the cables. There are many calls along the same lines. There is an element of panic creeping into the response of US capitalism. In their arrogance and contempt for the working class internationally and at home US capitalism is slow in absorbing the seriousness of what has happened. In fact they still do not realize how serious a crisis they are in. They think they can just ride this out like it is a minor bump in the road. This is a major shift in world consciousness and the birth of a new movement.

Its rivals overseas have been strengthened by these exposures in their dealings with the US. But at the same time these cables and secrets and lies have shown how the capitalist classes in other countries have capitulated to US capitalism's threats and bullying, Then this in turn has weakened these ruling classes against their own working classes. Overall we are looking at a change in the class balance of forces in favor of the working class.

The New York Times again spoke of the increased tensions that are developing. For many Europeans the US's "fierce reaction to the flood of secret diplomatic cables released by wikileaks displays imperial arrogance and hypocrisy..." Since the collapse of Stalinist US imperialism has strode about the globe insisting that it will accept no less than "full spectrum dominance." That is total domination. It generated a lot of resentment and hate. This is now coming to the surface. And with it stuck in two wars and economically hanging on by a thread the timing could not be worse for US capitalism.

Internationally it is also being remembered that a year ago in a speech aimed at China Hilary Clinton said the following: "Even in authoritarian countries information net works are helping people discover new facts and making governments more accountable." Now they are trying to destroy wikileaks and Assange. One Russian diplomat suggested mischievously that Assange be nominated for the Nobel Prize. After all if Hiliary Clinton meant what she said he is a real hero.
