1700 Jahan Fars workers go on strike and block roads

After eight months of not being paid 1700 workers of the Jahan Fars company in Deylam county, Bushehr province (in the southern oil-rich areas of Iran), went on strike on Wednesday 24 November. The workers, who are mostly from Deylam town and the surrounding villages, had a solid strike and closed off the following four crossroads to the company’s vehicle and all general traffic: Deylam, Genaveh, Bibi Hakimeh and Siah Makan.
During the past few months several thousands of workers have gone on strike and protested against unpaid wages.
