Cops get nasty at the University of California Regent's Meeting

Below is a short piece from the Regent's meeting protest today.  I also saw how the police pepper sprayed and batoned, Alejandro Lara.  I have been in occupations with him and he is very composed and used to dealing with these situations.  He was excellent on the local news when interviewed about the unprovoked attack on him by the police.

From Juan Garcia:

WEDNESDAY 6pm, 370 Dwinelle: Meeting to recap today's events at the UC Regents protest and plan actions for November 18th

$7,000 to $11,000 in fees in just 2 years? JOIN THE ACTIONS AGAINST THE NEWEST FEE INCREASE! PLEASE INFORM AND TURN OUT YOUR COMMUNITIES

Over 300 students and workers from many of the UC campuses came to today's UC Regents meeting to demonstrate against the proposed 8% fee hike and the cuts to pension benefits. The protesters were met with police violence as the police pepper sprayed indiscriminately, batoned and made indiscriminate arrests at the demonstrators (7 of whom were UCB students). The Regents will vote in a 8% fee hike on Thursday. Come join us as we mobilize our next steps!
