Teachers face Relocation
Education is being attack and many of the workers in school are shaky on the idea of losing their main source of income. For now the teachers are being relocated to other schools. What can happen is that they get relocated for a while then get fired. They are slowly but surely shaving off the workers in education. This act is only placating the workers, making us think that we dont have to worry for a while until next time. Some Teachers are frustrated and confused. Confused because they dont feel strong that the union and its leaders will campaign against the cuts. Instead of the unions fighting they are telling the workers how it is best to lose a day with furloughs rather than being fired. Thats granted not to be fired, but what of the 60 to 150 dollars a day woker get that could be used for paying their bills? In other words, lose a job slowly or quickly, pick one. At my job site, 4 teachers are being relocated out of 14 teachers all together. 1of 2 cafeteria workers might get laid off and 1 of 2 custodians as well. two teacher are siding with not doing nothing, while two others are upset but not sure what to do. What can come with losing more teachers: an increase in students per teacher, less attention and more stress onto all workers. Decisions will be made from the top to bottom and while this continues workers are going to have to communicate on ideas of how to show resistance against the current cuts. My site might be so chaotic and overwhleming with less workers that it will force us to come together and form a network between us. Nothing comes from nothing and if people make a stand it will or will not do much at that moment, however it does shows that workers are not going to go down quietly.
