Richard Mellor
Biden claims he will seek retribution for the suicide bombing that
killed 12 US Marines and a few hundred Afghani's. Retribution against
Who? This macho posturing is another effort to shift blame for the
catastrophe in Afghanistan away from the White House, the Pentagon and
the US Congress.
The Wall Street Journal reports today with a headline that the US "Carried
Out an Airstrike Against Islamic State In Afghanistan."
The Pentagon says
that this strike ""likely" killed "an extremist leader "described as a
planner for the organization." If they knew who was planning it how come
they couldn't prevent it? This is the usual US state department
newsreel and in this instance we have to consider its legitimacy based
on the fact that US imperialism has been forced to exit Afghanistan
after 20 years, $2.6 million spent and thousands killed or murdered. As
one meme put it, the US spent over two trillion dollars and 20 years
after removing the Taliban in order to replace them with the Taliban.
