RIP Little Richard

Good Golly Miss Molly. A tremendous influence in my life and millions of young English kids like me has passed on. Little Richard's influence on our music was phenomenal. Remember the Swinging Blue Jeans and Hippy Hippy shake? The Beatles and Long Tall Sally?  There's a great scene in the movie Hail Hail Rock and Roll made for Chuck Berry with Keith Richards throwing a party for him in St Louis. It's Little Richard sitting at the piano with Bo Diddley and (oh man, my memory) I  think without researching, Muddy Waters or one of the greats standing there talking about what it was like for them in that industry. Richard was talking about his song and how it was made and sold with I think Pat Boone or someone like that singing it. Sad but they were all laughing as Ricjard did a quick imitation of what that sounded like. You know he influenced Jerry Lee Lewis.

It's sad but great memories and thanks to this giant of 20th century music. The world, art and history has been richer because people like Little Richard was here. RIP Little Richard and thanks for everything.
