Remember Panama? No Tears for the Killer HW Bush Please

I saw this film over 20 years ago. Those of us that remember the invasion of Panama by US imperialism and the toppling of one of Washington's favorite puppets was portrayed as such a fine example of modern weaponry and precise attacks that I don't recall seeing a body on the mainstream media. It was all so neat.

This documentary proves otherwise and touches on the role of one of US capitalism's  ruthless killers George HW Bush, the father of another mass murder, the imbecile George Bush jr.  This family is a piece of work. It is fitting to watch this as the capitalist press is whipping up a wave of sentiment for this killer and enemy of working people throughout the world.

Bush was also a big player in the Carlyle group, a parasitic money managing outfit responsible for imposing brutal conditions on its victims. The Bush's are connected to the old Anglo-Saxon ruling classes and alleged to be related to the Anglo German British royal family.

Roberto Duran, is in the documentary as well. Bush senior is connected to all the dirty tricks and assassinations of the CIA in Latin America and throughout the former colonial world.  I recall one of his cretinous offspring, I think it was the son Neil, was involved in public education developing curriculum and using the family's political clout to make some dough. One of them was also involved in some nefarious sale of manufacturing products (maybe cooling fans) to Nigeria. This was done using a US government agency that promoted US exports. This is an example of the ruling class dominating society ideologically, the media, the education system etc. and using the state to line their own pockets.  You'll see Cheney and Powell in it too.

The capitalist media wants us to worship its leaders, wants us to adopt them as our own despite that George HW Bush waged vicious attacks on US workers and our organizations.  The same everywhere, capitalists vomiting the propaganda portraying its leaders as ours through national unity, patriotism and one nation and all that nonsense. Margaret Thatcher, that vicious representative of British capitalism terrorized the British working class, waged a brutal assault against working class families and in particular women. She was the originator of the term. TINA, "There is No Alternative" (to capitalism, neo-liberalism and privatizing everything.). There is no end to their hypocrisy and disdain for working people, throwing insults in our faces. Thatcher, the privateer had a publicly funded funeral.

Working class people should not shed one tear for the murderer Bush and his rotten family. Here's a few comments about this video. Richard Mellor.

"Years before the US went after Saddam Hussein, the White House had Manuel Noriega, another former ally, in its sights.

In their Oscar-winning documentary, director Barbara Trent and writer/editor David Kasper (Cover Up: Behind the Iran Contra Affair) contrast media coverage of the 1989 invasion with expert testimony.

The filmmakers backtrack to America's turn-of-the-century takeover of the Panama Canal--and volatile aftermath--before flashing forward to the reform-minded Carter era. When the CIA-supported Noriega comes to power, reform gives way to repression, and Reagan calls for the dictator's ouster.

His successor, Bush, brings in the troops. It would be one thing if they only targeted military facilities, but witnesses claim soldiers also fired on civilians and residential property (a Pentagon spokesman denies the accusation).

Depending on the source, casualties ranged from 250 to 4,000. Narrated by Elizabeth Montgomery, Panama Deception was shot on video--and looks it--but content is king." Source
