The San Leandro City Council held a meeting to take questions from the community about their intent to purchase a BearCat, a military combat vehicle. The BearCat was on display in the parking lot before the meeting. There was a small but spirited protest prior to the meeting with a number of young people from the local high school making their presence felt. Many people spoke on the issue but from what people say, those supporting the purchase of the vehicle outnumbered those against.
The council will vote on the issue next month Here is a short video of the event. The flier is from the San Leandro Worker's Club
