Spanish miners: Spanish Women Against Pit Closures!

'Women miners held their first meetings to organize and mobilize in support of mining in Asturias. The scenes teach working-class culture that prevails in the coalfields of Asturias for over a century. In just two days the women of the coalfields of Asturias hold their first meetings and convene the first protests. More than 200 women attend Asturian Parliament to demand that the agreements with the previous government. Women have always played a key role in underpinning the Asturian coalfield.(Shared by Durham Miners Gala)
