US politics: deep, insightful, thought provoking.

No European politician could have figured this out
Added note: I was wrong about this, mistaken.  It was Bush's father, the Panama CIA connection guy who said this about Romney.

I take exception when those Europeans criticize our politics here in the US. Sure, they have more political parties and their elections don't cost $5 billion and all that stuff. But do they have the stimulating debates we have over here?  The deep political and economic back and forth that takes place between the politicians of the two parties of the free world  and in the pages of the mass media is what gives us the edge, what makes politics in the US so interesting.  It's the American workers' fault, the voters fault that they don't participate in elections in the freest country in the world. The choices are there, the candidates go on TV and have healthy debates.

You Europeans and especially you folks in the underdeveloped, er, I mean emerging economies, no, I meant to say the third world---or was it the BRICS?  No matter, you folks don't know what you're missing.  Just sit back and ingest this short exchange this carefully thought out and insightful statement about why he supports Romney (rumors that Romney believes the world is only 6000 years old are false) from our former beloved president and Ivy League alumni George HW Bush.

Bush has all but endorsed Romney.  He likes him and knew his dad.  He likes his "stability, experience principles." he says adding that, "He's a fine person. I just think he's mature and reasonable, not a bomb thrower." Romney thanked Bush adding that,  "His leadership, his heroic life and his friendship mean a great deal to me" .

If only the rest of you were like us.  This is some deep stuff, makes you really think about the world.
