Heroic Bahraini women speaks

Given the anti-Muslim propaganda and climate of hate and fear that the US ruling class generates against Arabs and other Muslims some American's watching this may feel concerned but we shouldn't be. This is a powerful and heroic woman and I found it very moving.  And as far as the clothes people wear I say this; I am against anyone being forced to wear anything against their will. Women in capitalist society are coerced in to wearing all sorts of crap that is harmful to them, high heels, makeup etc. The woman is a Bahraini woman and  from what I can tell is a Shia Muslim. Bahrain is an absolute monarch, a virtual dictatorship propped up by the US and home to the US fifth fleet.  This is why the horrific actions of the state against peaceful protesters fighting for democratic rights, freedom of religion and even a Republic have been kept under wraps while the Syrian regime's actions are all over the news.  The Shia a majority in Bahrain and discriminated against by the Sunni monarchy.  US capitalism had its Saudi stooges send troops in to Bahrain to suppress the movement for reform there.  The monarchy has even imprisoned doctors and medical personnel that treated those wounded by it's thugs.

US capitalism has tried to portray the protests there as orchestrated by Iran.  Iran is now US capitalism's excuse for everything that is wrong about this world.

As far as a lot of the religious references we have to understand that for many people, their religion is important and is an anchor in times of great oppression. I am not religious by any means but defend (as this woman clearly does) people's right to practice their religion free off persecution)  Not only that, here in the US we are inundated daily with religious images and our politicians repeatedly refer to it.  The Catholic church in which I was brought up, would have women in all sorts of shackles were it able to have its way. And we all have read the abuse of women in the Catholic church and the abuse and rape of young girls among some who claim they are Mormon.

Her attire doesn't stop this woman from  fighting and engaging in a most heroic struggle as the US supported Monarchy has shot unarmed people down like dogs.  I had to watch her a couple of times it was so moving. I'd like to meet her, we could do with her here in the US.
