Can you believe the fuss over Mark Halperin, the political analyst in deep trouble for saying on air earlier today that he thought President Obama was a bit of a "dick yesterday". They all thought they were on a time delay on the broadcast and spoke their minds for a moment like normal human beings, but they were live. But what hypocrites they are. I mean, referring to someone as a "dick" is not exactly the nastiest thing in the world. This term is used here in the US when you think someone is being a bit stupid, a bit of an "asshole", which may not be true and it may not be the most polite or political way to describe your differences with someone. But man they've gone nuts.
The show came back and Halperin made a public apology. Firstly the news Anchor lied saying that Halperin said it in jest, which he didn't; he said it to be critical, to describe how he thought the president behaved. Then Halperin lied by agreeing with that and went on to lie even more saying he didn't know why he said it.
They were all "shocked". Halperin is suspended indefinitely and NBC issues its own apology to the president and the American people saying it is not their view and the way Halperin expressed his views was the opposite of what they stand for all this sort of stuff.
Then they went on to talk about how parents had said their kids watch the show and they apologized to the kids of America. It appears that the kids of America are watching these political shows, NBC, CBS's 60 Minutes, it's incredible, check it out here. You can watch a clip of him getting caught and another after the fact when they all come back lying through their teeth. This is a corporation that lies about the slaughter of entire populations. It is a lying machine.
But there is an issue here. It is a sort of Divine Right of Kings for capitalism. It is what they call, the integrity of the office, or the sanctity of the office. The office of president of the most advanced, egalitarian, system in human history cannot be insulted in this way, no more than the rights of kings of feudalism could, it cannot be undermined. Most importantly no matter who occupies that office in the interests of US capitalism, the media it controls and that justifies its ideology and rule to the masses cannot have its employees screw up like that.
How terrified they are of undermining their rotten, hypocritical system when you think about it. We all know the media lies but when they get caught its not that they get caught that matters, its that they are vulnerable as it shows a mistake, an error. How paranoid they must feel to announce to the world that they are very sorry about the "dick" remark, especially to the American children that watch the show-------- and think we might believe it.
