Bush and Saudi leader in embrace. These war criminals of imperialism are filling each others bank accounts and keeping down the working people in their own countries and regions. Only dictatorships of one kind or another are possible under these thugs in the Middle East.
The masses of the Middle East and North Africa are bringing the old dictatorial regimes crashing down. It looks like Libya will fall also but this is not sure. As this wonderful inspirational development takes place we must not forget the real force that has been behind these regimes and is ultimately responsible for what has been going on. Including the slaughter in Libya. Those ultimately responsible are the ruling classes in the advanced capitalist countries, that is imperialism. It has been imperialism which over the decades has carved up the region into different countries so it could rule and use these against each other in a divide and rule strategy. It has been imperialism which has selected the various thugs and dictators to rule these countries and which has armed them and propped them up. The thug Ghaddafi has had help from the British SAS in training some of his armed thugs in the past.
The truth of what I am saying is shown by the coverage we have given in our blog over the past days. We have shown the representatives of imperialism, and mass murderers one and all, Bush, Blair, Clinton, Berlusconi, we could go on, hugging and kissing the hand of Ghaddafi. He would not be in power if it was not for them. He would not be in a position now to slaughter the people in the streets without the backing of imperialism over the years. Yes the thugs and dictators such as Mubarrack and Ghaddafi and so on must be condemned and overthrown but so also must imperialism which created and back them and which is lurking to create new stooges, thugs and dictators.
The media of imperialism keeps bringing up the question of what will follow the fall of these regimes. This is partly to scare us into making sure we leave it to imperialism to take charge and impose its solution. But we are concerned about this also, but from a different class point of view. We seek a democratic socialist federation of the region where the wealth is owned by all, is democratically controlled and planned by all, this is what we want to come now. But imperialism does not want this. It wants new stooges who will continue to do its bidding, keep its looted oil and gas wealth safe and keep the oil and gas and wealth flowing out and into its economies.
There can never be genuinely democratic societies in the region on the basis of capitalism. Capitalism will make inevitable the looting of the wealth of the region. This will always be opposed by the mass of the population of the region, the working class, and therefore capitalism, imperialism, will have to put the aspirations of the masses down in blood. This is why there cannot be democracy in the region on the basis of capitalism. It is because imperialism is looting and will loot the region, and the masses will oppose this and so imperialism will try and put the masses down. It is not any garbage such as one academic recently said that the Arab people are not ready for democracy. The Arab people are more than ready for democracy. it is that capitalism cannot allow them to have democracy because if they do this will be used to take over the wealth and kick out imperialism. So as the dominoes fall in the region imperialism searches for its new dictatorships.
This is most clearly shown in the case of the Saudi dictatorship. Why is imperialism not moving against this dictatorship. In fact think about it. Imperialism did not move against any of the dictatorial regimes. It is not even fully opposing Ghaddafi yet. It was only when the masses moved and the regimes began to fall that imperialism began to partially distance itself from some of the regimes. Imperialism supported all these regimes until they started to fall. For the people of the region to enter the modern democratic world and use all the modern technological and industrial developments that are now available capitalism has to be overthrown in the region and replaced with a socialist federation of the middle east where the wealth is taken out of private hands and put into collective public ownership under workers control and management. This is what is necessary for a democratic planned economy in the region, and this is the only way the economic problems can be solved and the only way democracy can be established and the only way the peoples of the region can realize their potential in every way.
Sean.
