Visa, Mastercard, Swiss Bankers: These people would never lie to us

One thing we should remember is that Julian Assange hasn't been charged in either of the two sexual misconduct cases, the one where the condom broke or the other one. I have been reading the stuff on the blog and while I believe that the sexual misconduct charges seem very suspect to me, no one would deny that the issue should be investigated, and by independent organizations. I for one, wouldn't support handing Assange over to the Swedish and US governments.

Look at who we're dealing with. The US just in the last day or two says it has given up trying to convince Israel to halt settlements. Do we really believe this? Do we really believe the US can't get a country to stop stealing people's land and homes, a country it basically funds, whose power would be non existent without US arm sales? I don't accept that.

And I was reading in the papers this morning the lame excuses Amazon and Visa and companies like that are giving for dumping Wikileaks. Visa Europe has suspended payments to Wikileaks
"pending investigation" in to whether the company"contravenes Visa operating rules, including compliance with local laws in markets where we operate."

These guys are so honest, they are an example to all of us. And as far as Post Finance, the Swiss Bank that closed Assange's account. The dudes that run that are also extremely honest and forthright individuals. Their reason for closing the account according to this morning's papers is that he provided a false address in Geneva so he is guilty of, "failing to meet the banks requirement of Swiss residency for account holders."

You can't argue with that. There's no way that there is anyone with a Swiss bank account that doesn't live in Switzerland. Is there?

Maybe this Assange really is a terrible person if he would lie to a banker about his residency in order to open an account.

Lets see how impressed you are when the GOVT intelligence agencies use their own Wiki Leaks cyberwar operation as justification to take down the internet and censor it heavily. Joe Lieberman already has that legislation written and in committee. Wow, have you ever seen Congress so efficient? Maybe only on the Patriot Act- 1500 pages of which was already on their desks, ready to go on Sept 12 ?
