This is what you call bourgeois diplomacy. Obama talking to Chinese students about the necessity for the free flow of information and transparancy and how this is the US tradition, as opposed to China.
He hasn't spouted much praise for Wikileaks and Assange mind you. And to my knowledge he hasn't condemned this US politicans calling Wikileaks a terrorist group and calling for Assange's execution and/or a lifelong prison sentence like the multi-millionaire Feinstein has, a member of his own party.
