Assange released. Victory for the right to know. Defeat for capitalism.

Victory. Assange outside the court in London after he was released on bail earlier today.

In a very important victory Assange has been freed on bail. Yes there are all the onerous conditions, the huge amount of bail, the electronic bracelet, but in spite of all this is a defeat for capitalism. They wanted to keep him locked down in solitary confinement. This victory is more than anything else the result of the pressure that has been kept on in support of wikileaks and Assange. Capitalism has to be a bit more careful now. It has seen how the Internet has exploded in their face. This is the beginning of a new era.

Now increased pressure must be kept on for the release from custody and the dropping of all charges against Bradley Manning, the US soldier who is accused of supplying cables to wikileaks. The New York Times reports today that the US so-called justice department is working over time to prepare a case against Assange and they will most likely go after Bradley Manning for treason. Both these individuals and wikileaks have done a service to working people all over the world. they have made it easier to see the secrets and lies of capitalism. this helps workers to see what is going on. And strengthens their struggles.

Please see earlier in this blog the program of demands we are suggesting should be campaigned upon in support of wikileaks, and for the defense of Assange and Manning. Please download these and distribute them and attend the solidarity rallies and events that are now developing.
Sean.
