Bankruptcies continue to climb

Elections come and go but the crisis is still with us here in the U.S. Personal bankruptcy filings are heading north and are looking to hit the highest in five years according to the reports out today.  More than 132,000 filed for bankruptcy last month and 1.3 million have been filed this year.

On another note, a small but important item that is not receiving headline news is the repeated assaults on military installations or buildings.  At least one shot was fired at a Coast Guard recruiting office in northern Virginia, the fifth incident in a month.  Three of the five incidents were directed at Marine Corps. facilities.  The FBI blamed the four previous shootings on the same unknown individual, they speculate that it could be someone "harboring a grievance against the Marine Corp."

It seems to be that a few million people could be in that category including plenty of ex Marines.
