Capitalist propaganda - lies from end to end.

We have always argued on this blog that capitalism does not work. We have also argued that it will tell any lie, carry out any dirty trick, engage in any hypocrisy, as long as these are in its interests. It has no principles.

After World War Two US capitalism gave its full support to large Zionist organizations to get reparations from German and Swiss industry and banks for what had gone on under the Nazi regimes - slave labor, seizure of property, suffering of all kinds. Most of what was won never reached the poor Jewish refugees who needed it but went to the Zionist organizations and the Jewish elite.

In the course of this a few related issues tended to surface. If the Jewish people who had been in the death camps and who had been used as slave labor got reparations what about the African Americans who were used as slave labor by US capitalism for centuries?

African Americans were paid no wages for their work for over 200 years. US capitalism built up its capital stock and its economic and military power to a great extent by stealing this wealth, this labor of the African American people. To keep them down while robbing them they would lynch black males on a regular basis. But while the US government and its criminal system supported the Jewish people getting reparations they adamantly opposed and oppose any reparations for African Americans. It was partly a question of whose pocket it was going to come of this time and it was also the desire by US imperialism to have a secure base in the Middle East.

Then there are the native Americans. US capitalism stole their land, land which included the most fertile in the world. They were left with nothing or a few reservations on bad land. This was the biggest land grab in history. Did US capitalism support the native american people in getting compensation or their land back like they supported reparations for the Jewish people from their rivals German capitalism? Not likely.

Apparently US capitalism can only contemplate the idea that war crimes or land grabs or refusal to pay wages can only exist in other countries. When they carry them out themselves then they are to be forgotten about.

Look at the Vietnam war. If there ever was a case for reparations it was there. The criminal capitalist system of US capitalism went to war to as it looked at it stop stalinism spreading throughout South Eastern Asia. It took its stand to preserve its wealth, privilege and power. In the course of this 4 - 5 million people died. 9,000 out of 15,000 hamlets, 25 million acres of farmland, 12 million acres of forest were destroyed and 1.5 million farm animals were killed. At the end of the war there was an estimated 200,000 prostitutes, 879,000 orphans, 181,000 disabled people, 1 million widows. All six of the industrial cities in the North had been badly damaged, as were provincial and district towns, and 4,000 out of 58,000 agricultural communes.

What about compensation from US capitalism? Not likely. Clinton was president at the time and Cohen was his Defense Secretary. Cohen said in relation to compensation for Vietnam. "Both nations were scarred by this." The idea being that both sides had suffered equal damage. Yes. I am sure the massive fire power of US capitalism inflicted no more damage on the poverty stricken nation of Vietnam than the other way around. Capitalism is a system of hypocrisy to an unbelievable degree.
