capitalism and health

2.6 billion people on the planet have to defecate in the open according to the World Health Organization. That is they have no toilets and have to go in the fields, the streams etc. The result is that their waste inevitably ends up in the water supply and the land. And from their in their diets and stomachs. Again according to the World health Organization 2 million people die of preventable diseases as a result.

This is mass slaughter caused by capitalism's priorities. These priorities are to make profits. So instead of building toilets for the impoverished people it develops drugs and vaccines on a mass scale for those who can afford to buy them. It lets the others die or stagger around sick.

The best way to combat disease and illness is improved nutrition, living conditions and health education. This is obvious. But capitalism concentrates on drugs and vaccines. Patents for some of the better known and more used drugs are now running out. But capitalism is not turning to build a sanitation system for the world's peoples, instead it is turning increasingly to vaccines. US public health officials say they expect a US citizen to have received 69 doses of 16 vaccines by the time they are 18. But these vaccines come with a price. They are highly toxic. And not only that, but the over medication and doping of people in the advanced capitalist countries such as the USA is leading to the development of drug resistant super bugs.

As we argue in this blog capitalism does not work. As we also argue stop sitting around and waiting for others to organize. At the very least send us a donation to keep our work going, or preferably comment on what you read here and as well as that contact us and let us work together against the madness and mass slaughter of capitalism and for a democratic Socialist alternative.

Sean.
