Pope in drive to recruit right wing of Anglican church

The pope, the unelected leader of the Catholic church, has made a move to recruit the right wing of the Anglican church, that is those who are most disaffected by that church's acceptance of women and gay people as ministers and bishops. This is a move that is consistent with the record of this pope, a former member of the nazi youth. And do not let anybody tell you that he had no choice but to be a member of the Hitler youth. Of course he had. Like the millions of trade unionists and members of the socialist and communist and anarchist movement he could have taken up a struggle against the nazis and if necessary gone underground to fight it. But no his career and the existence of the Catholic Church was too important to him so he went along and became a member of the Hitler youth.

What a backward organization is the Catholic Church. It was originally the church of feudalism. Then as feudalism was replaced by capitalism it adjusted and became one of the church's of capitalism. I would like to deal here with just one aspect of the backwardness and reactionary nature of this organization, that is its position on women. It believes that women are inferior to men. This is shown by their refusal to allow women to be priests. This is also shown by their treatment of the nuns. They are also treated as inferior and a source of free or cheap labor. They are encouraged to "cultivate feminine values" such as "listening, welcoming, humility, faithfulness, praise and waiting." Incredible. But this is ideal for keeping these women under control and working for nothing or next to nothing.  You may think this is from some old document written by some backward priest or bishop hundreds of years ago. But you would be wrong.  This was written by the present pope. Keep the women down. Keep them quiet. Keep them subservient. That is the position of this unelected dictator of the Catholic Church. This person also argues that distributing condoms makes the aids crisis worse.

When he was a Cardinal this pope disciplined two American nuns. One, Jeannine Gramick, who founded a ministry to reconcile gays with the Church. The Church sees gay people as suffering from a disorder. The other was Mary Mansour, who headed the Michigan Department of Social Services, which amongst other things, paid for abortions for poor women.

I personally would never belong to such a backward and reactionary and undemocratic organization, not to mention its incorrect belief that there is a god. I would advocate that people leave this organization. But for those people who believe in staying in this organization and believe in fighting for a decent life for all and for human and civil rights for all they must organize to take on the leadership of this undemocratic and reactionary organization. To sit in their and not fight is to be subservient to the reactionary ideas and the backward males that run that organization, such as the former Hitler youth member the present unelected pope.
