Look at what this piece of dirt who is the governor of California has in his resume. His movies were practically all filled with violence, people being shot and blown up non stop. This was the role model he presented to the youth of the country. This is how he made his millions. He would be classified as a criminal in any decent society, teaching and advocating violence.
Now as governor of California he presides over the three stike policy. That is three convictions and you are jailed for life. One man was recently jailed for life for stealing a $2.50 pair of socks. He had two other convictions for assisting in two robberies when he was 19. US capitalism goes round the world preaching how it is the model for the world. Yet it has between four and five times more people in jail per head of the population that any other country. US capitalism is utterly rotten.
In California, again Schwarzenegger's, state they spend over $200,000 per year on every juvenile in the so called justice system. But they only spend $8,000 per year per student in the Oakland public school system. Again another symptom of a rotten system.
I see that workplace deaths were down to a record low in 2008. This is because less hours were being worked as the bosses cut jobs and hours. But workplace suicides rose to a record high. This is because the pressure of work has increased and the pressure of trying to pay the bills has increased. One in eight households with a mortgage are either in foreclosure or behind in their mortgage. No wonder that with this and no lead from the pathetic cowed pro-capitalist labor leaders that more people are killing themselves. And now in the last month to report its findings the rate of job loss is going up.
A few weeks ago Obama went to Africa and lectured the people about the need to be less corrupt. This from a man who came up through the Chicago machine. In another example of the corruption of US capitalism, as if we needed any more we have the recent book from Tom Ridge who headed Homeland Security under Bush. He reports how in the run up to the 2004 elections he was pressurized to increase the security threat level in order to scare people more and thus hope they would be more likely to vote for Bush.
US and world capitalism has forfeited the right to rule. We need to build the alternative: A democratic socialist society on a world scale. Sean.

Your coverage of the sad news in America from the viewpoint of the working man is very inspiring.
I read your site every day and am amazed at the quality and depth of your analysis, especially considering that - as a working person yourself - it must be difficult to do this much writing between working hours.
Two of the authors that write a fair bit on the site are retired.
