Representatives of two of the world's major dictatorships meet in Rome

I see that Obama met with the unelected ruler of the Catholic Church the other day. Who are these people? What are we watching?

Obama represents the dictatorship of the US corporations. At home and abroad he looks after their interests. He keeps the wages and living standards down at home and sends the young people to fight the wars abroad to defend the corporations' property and interests. Basically there is no difference between him and Biden and Bush and Cheney. It is the power of this position that opens the doors of the Vatican and to his chat with the unelected extreme right wing dictator who resides there. Who is this person?

This unelected dictator represents the bureaucracy of the vast organization of the Catholic Church which in turn defends capitalism from any threat of attack. The Catholic Church was once the church of feudalism. When capitalism overthrew feudalism and became the dominant world system the Catholic Church changed its tune and became the Church of capitalism. Whatever was necessary to defend capitalism then became the policy of the Catholic Church.

This unelected dictator in the Vatican at the moment was a member of the Hitler Youth. The defenders of the Catholic Church say well he had no choice. But he had millions of choices. Millions of Germans and other ethnic and racial groups in Germany and elsewhere fought the Nazis and many of them went to their death for doing so. But not the Catholic Church, nor not this wee bureaucrat. They were too busy defending their power and looking to the future and their place in it. This is who Obama met with.

And what did Obama say to this swine when they met? "It's a great honor for me. Thank you so much." Grovelling that was what he was doing.

At this time when the US under Obama is involved in the overthrow to the Honduran government it is worth remembering more about the Catholic Church and its relationship with the US corporate dictatorship. The US and the Catholic Church bureaucracy cooperated in crushing and murdering the left movement in Latin America in the 1970's. Information and money was chanelled through the Catholic Church from the US government for this end.

In the Catholic Church itself opposition developed. It was called the Liberation Theology Movement. This was crushed by the bureaucracy and its supporters driven out of the organization. The Liberation Theology Movement believed that the church should be the Church of the poor and not of capitalism. They based themselves on the parts of the bible which argue for this.

So we were watching reality the other day. The leader of the US corporate dictatorship meeting with the leader of the Catholic Church dictatorial bureaucracy and the US representative saying how big an honor it was. Neither of these two corporate representatives would meet with a working class active who was fighting to end capitalism and build a democratic socialist world.Do not be fooled by the fancy robes or the glib smiles these are two vicious capitalist representatives. These are things to keep in mind.
