We're all in this together. Aren't we?

David Axelrod, Obama's advisor to the auto industry had this to say about its future and what restructuring the industry will mean:

"How that restructuring comes is something that has to be determined," he said. "But it's going to be something that's going to require sacrifice not just from the auto workers but also from creditors, from shareholders and the executives who run the company. And everyone's going to have to get together here to build companies that can compete in the future."

We're all in this together and we all have to sacrifice, the fox announces to the occupants of the hen house. What does it mean to compete? It means that employees of the big three must undercut other domestic auto worker's in the non-Union plants as well as workers in the industry abroad. They must work faster, longer and reduce wages and benefits. They must have less impediments to this process such as Unions and protection on the job. If this is worked out then more working people's money will be handed over to the auto bosses. And the UAW leadership will be there to make sure that all this is carried out with no resistance from Union members.

This doesn't look right to me.
