Bonnie and I were so happy last night: Italian women march against sexism and Berlusconi

As Bonnie and I watched the news last night we were so happy. Millions of Italian women were marching against Berlusconi but also against the way women are treated in Italian society. This is brilliant. According to the World Economic Forum's latest global gender gap report Italy ranks 74th out of 134 countries surveyed.

Italian women inspired by the revolutionary events in the Middle East and North Africa are fighting to improve their position. The affect of these events has spread north of the Mediterranean. What a time to be alive. Berlusconi's prostitution scandals and his sexist comments and actions have caused millions of women to move into action on the streets of over 200 Italian cities and other places in the world such as Barcelona and Paris. Women are demanding dignity and respect and protesting sexism and violence.
