Biden the Worker

So Biden is also just a working class stiff. He is stressing his "working class" roots says the Wall Street Journal. The working class in the US only exists during election cycles, the rest of the time we're all middle class.

Biden does pretty well in Delaware though. It's the state where the major corporations register themselves and file for bankruptcy. It is to the corporations what Panama or the Marshall Islands is to shipping.

Legislation was introduced in 2005 that would have eliminated the state of incorporation as the basis for choosing a bankruptcy filing venue; Biden squashed it.

Attorney's from Delaware law firms have contributed $1,ooo,ooo to Biden since 2002.

Not bad for an aw shucks sort of working guy.

But they need the votes don't they. There's more of us than them and they can't elect themselves in to office without our votes.

Life's pressures

I spent 45 minutes today simply canceling a phone service. They keep you on the phone when they think you're leaving and then they charged me $6.00. I was nice to the guy, after all, he's only doing a job and he's probably got the boss breathing down his neck.

But it is so stressful. I am retired but I would have had to try to do this during work hours before. It made me think about all the stuff we have to do simply to function; pay bills, call the doctor, go to an appointment, meet the kids teachers. And if you don't pay the bills we know what can happen, you can find yourself without heat or water or communication.

And can the folks in Denver stop the TV volume going crazy when the ad comes on; in fact, can they stops the damn ads?

I don't think so.

We're all working class now

Kathleen Sibelius who was on the "short" list for Obama's veep was just at the podium. They are all doing their best to convince workers they have the right credentials. Sibelius is from and Irish background, her mom was a maid. She lauds Obama stock as pure working class and hard working Americans.

Some member of her family told her that there's nothing Americans can't do. All it takes is hard work and that's why she is where she is and Obama is where he is; the rest of us that never made it only have ourselves to blame.

Before her was a businesswoman from Oregan who has investments int he "Green" economy, and a laid off textile worker from North Carolina.

She made some joke about the number of homes McCain owns. But there's thousands of Wall Street backers of Obama and his party who own numerous mansions.

I'm the poorest---no I'm the poorest

My comrade and I were talking today about the Democratic convention and the elections in general. The whole shebang is almost absent of politics. There's a lot of hope flying about.

"They dragged in Kennedy and gave him five minutes 'cause he's dying, " my friend said. "He is not put off that they killed his brothers as long as he gets the limelight for a while.

Its pretty funny watching them go to war with each other trying to convince us that they are poorer than their opponent; two millionaires competing for our votes and they have to try in some way to act like they are just regular folks.

This is what's dodgy for them about us having the right to vote. For a minute or two they have to appeal to working people as we can screw up their careers. Obama is just a poor welfare baby done good. McCain is a hard working former POW.

We don't believe this crap but it shows that there is such a thing as the working class in the US and they have to try to deceive us and act like they came from our roots. It's a powerful indication of their fear of working people.
